Job summary

PACCAR North America Materials is seeking a Buyer to join our team in Kirkland, WA or Denton, TX. This role focuses on placing orders, coordinating with cross‑functional teams, and improving supplier performance to ensure on‑time production.

Responsibilities include negotiating terms, maintaining inventory, implementing JIT programs, and supporting EDI initiatives with suppliers. Travel up to 10% is expected; a Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-2 years of experience required.
• APICS certification (CPIM, CIRM, CSCP) preferred.
• Experience with Kanban and Lean Material Handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place orders with suppliers for production material for four plants.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Determine production requirements for assigned parts groupings.
• Issue purchase orders to meet schedules and maintain stock levels.
• Host calls to resolve supply chain disruptions and EDI issues.
• Plan and coordinate introduction of new parts and reduce inventory.
• Forecast orders during low visibility using reports.
• Negotiate delivery terms and charges with suppliers.
• Serve as focal point for supplier management and performance.
