Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Materials and Vendor Services Coordinator to manage daily inventory operations and collaborate with clinical, research and support teams on a hospital-wide basis.

The role requires evaluating usage, lead times and safety stock, sourcing supplies, coordinating with vendors and ensuring accurate inventory data through automated systems. This is an on-site position with a Tuesday–Saturday day shift, supporting Cedars-Sinai's mission of high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital Materials Management, Shipping/Receiving/Distribution or related field.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications is required.
• Experience in inventory forecasting and data accuracy in automated systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day product inventory operations for designated areas.
• Collaborates with medical, research, nursing, and support services teams.
• Manages inventory functions and resolves discrepancies.
• Maintains automated information systems for daily operational analysis.
• Recommends inventory consumption controls and par levels.
• Handles sourcing and procurement of supplies and materials for assigned area.
• Coordinates with external vendors on delivery and storage requirements.
• Forecasts inventory utilization based on standard par levels.

Summary of Essential Duties:

• The Materials and Vendor Services Coordinator oversees the day-to-day product inventory operations for designated areas.
• Collaborates with medical, research and/or nursing staff and all areas of Support Services including, but not limited to Central Issues, Purchasing, Warehouse, Receiving, Billing, Processing, Clinical Engineering and information systems.
• Responsible for inventory functions and product and/or accounting discrepancies as a result of those functions.
• Provide daily operational analysis through maintenance of automated information systems.
• Recommends inventory consumption control measures.
• Responsible for determining usage, lead time, safety stock, minimum and maximum quantity for all inventory as assigned.
• Responsible for sourcing and procurement of all supplies and material needed for assigned area.
• Work with external vendors and representatives on delivery of items and storage requirements.
• Forecasts inventory utilization based on standard acceptable par level.

The schedule for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday day shift.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate's Degree/College Diploma preferred

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital, Materials Management, Shipping/Receiving/Distribution or other customer service-related field required
• Hospital inventory experience preferred
• Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet applications required
