Job summary

Oakwood Group in Taylor, MI is seeking a Materials Analyst to join our team. You will work onsite with opportunities for remote work and focus on ERP, scheduling, and supply chain optimization to support customer demand and production plans.

The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, lean manufacturing knowledge, and collaboration across MP&L, engineering, operations, IT, finance, and purchasing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a business-related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
• 5+ years in scheduling, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain management in a Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive supplier environment preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office; knowledge of lean manufacturing favorable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve ERP issues tied to BOMs, scheduling, logistics, and reporting.
• Conduct capacity analysis and planning to identify resource constraints, support demand requirements, and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Analyze demand and establish scheduling parameters to maintain target inventory turns while supporting customer requirements.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across scheduling, customer service, logistics, and inventory.
• Document and promote best practices such as safety stock optimization.
• Support vendor EDI implementation and other cross-functional initiatives.
• Assist with customer-driven projects such as program launches, balance-outs, and engineering changes.
• Serve as a central point of communication between MP&L, engineering, operations, IT, finance, purchasing, customers, and suppliers.
• Training team members and driving cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, nights and weekends as needed. Onsite with opportunities for remote work.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a business-related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
• At least 5 years’ experience in scheduling, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain management (within a Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive supplier environment preferred).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (IQMS preferred) and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
