Job summary

Oakwood Group in Taylor, MI is seeking a Materials Analyst to strengthen supply chain performance and lead cross-functional projects.

You will resolve ERP issues tied to BOMs, scheduling, and reporting, drive process improvements, support vendor EDI, and coordinate with MP&L, operations, IT, and purchasing. The role is primarily in-office with occasional remote work, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a business field; equivalent manufacturing experience encouraged.
• 5+ years in scheduling, logistics, purchasing, or SCM in Tier 1/Tier 2 auto supplier.
• ERP proficiency (IQMS preferred) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve ERP issues tied to BOMs, scheduling, logistics, and reporting.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across scheduling, customer service, logistics, and inventory.
• Document and promote best practices such as safety stock optimization.
• Support vendor EDI implementation and cross-functional initiatives.
• Assist with customer-driven projects like program launches, balance-outs, and engineering changes.
• Serve as a central communication point among MP&L, engineering, operations, IT, finance, purchasing, customers, and suppliers.
• Train team members and drive cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.

What You’ll Do

As our Materials Analyst, you’ll play a key role in strengthening supply chain performance and supporting cross-functional projects. Your responsibilities will include:

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a business-related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
• At least 5 years’ experience in scheduling, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain management within a Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive supplier environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (IQMS preferred) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

This role is primarilyin-officeat our Taylor, MI location, with occasional opportunities for remote work. The standard schedule isMonday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with nights and weekends as needed.
