Job summary

American Crystal Sugar Company is seeking a Material and Supply Handler to measure and inventory chemical and fuel levels across factory tanks. The role requires familiarity with materials handling, documentation, and SAP Materials Management or the ability to learn it.

The position involves loading and unloading materials, tagging, labeling, and moving goods using forklifts and other equipment. Safety compliance and overtime as needed are expected.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate effectively.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• SAP system knowledge or ability to learn Materials Management in SAP.

Responsibilities

• Measure and inventory chemical and fuel levels in various tanks.
• Maintain daily inventory of chemical usage and complete related documentation.
• Load/unload materials, tag/label containers, and store/distribute items.
• Operate forklift, electric hoist and pallet jack to move materials.
• Follow safety policies and work overtime as required.

Job description

The Material and Supply Handler position physically measures and inventories chemical and fuel levels in various tanks at the factory. Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to: Must be familiar with American Crystal Sugar Company materials, supplies, and related procedures. An understanding of the SAP System or be able to learn the Materials Management functions of SAP is required to complete job activities. Maintains a daily inventory of chemical usage. Completes all necessary documentation relating to position. Loads and unloads materials as delivered to the factory, storing and distributing where needed. Attaches identifying tags or labels to material or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Opens containers. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Operates industrial truck, electric hoist, and forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Performs all duties with total commitment and compliance of all Company Safety and Sanitation policies. Must use all required safety equipment to perform assigned tasks. Performs other duties as assigned. Works overtime as required.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.
• Able to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must obtain a forklift certification.

Compensation Range: $23.98 - $23.98 /hr
