Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Materials Supervisor to oversee the materials department in a manufacturing setting, ensuring smooth flow from receiving to production and accurate inventory levels. Lead a team responsible for storage, inventory control, and material distribution to production lines.

You will coordinate with procurement, planning, and production teams to meet schedules and resolve shortages, while implementing SOPs for material handling and maintaining safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and material planning.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the materials team including warehousing, inventory control, and line supply.
  • Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Coordinate with procurement, planning, and production teams to ensure material availability and resolve shortages.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for material handling and storage.
  • Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy, material availability, and on-time delivery to production.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and reduce waste.

Where is the work: On-Site (5 days)

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the materials department within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the efficient flow of raw materials and components from receiving to production, while maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting on‑time production schedules. The Materials Supervisor leads a team responsible for storage, inventory control, and material distribution to the production lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the materials team including warehousing, inventory control, and line supply.
  • Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Coordinate with procurement, planning, and production teams to ensure material availability and resolve shortages.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for material handling and storage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse and materials areas.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, material availability, and on‑time delivery to production.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and reduce waste.
  • Work with ERP/MRP systems to manage transactions related to materials movement and inventory.
Qualifications
  • Certificate or degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1–2+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is required, preferably of 2+ years.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and material planning.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $56,300.00 - $80,255.00
