Job summary

Allegion plc seeks a Material Specialist IV at its Cincinnati facility to move material in and out of the warehouse, deliver to production areas, and ensure accurate counts and documentation. You will work with packing lists, BOLs, and manifests, using scanners and a business system to support KPI reporting.

The role requires safe operation of forklifts and other material-moving equipment, cycle counting, and accurate packing and loading of shipments consistent with Standard Work.

• Receives material and verifies against documentation within 24 hours.
• Verifies delivery of material to documentation (Pack lists & BOL).
• Documents damaged material and informs Manager, Buyer, and Quality Control.
• Performs daily cycle counts and records results.
• Operates manual or motorized equipment and follows safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Stage, put-away, issue, and process material in the warehouse.
• Capture data with scanning devices and enter into the business system.
• Photograph loaded shipments to ensure evidence for claims.

Job description

Role Overview

The Material Specialist IV will support material requirements by moving product into the facility, moving manufactured product out of the facility, delivering purchased material to the production areas, and delivering small parts (both purchased and manufactured) to the production areas. Duties will include:

• All activities performed are to follow documented Standard Work
• Verifies delivery of material to documentation (Pack lists & BOL)
• Responsible for verifying damaged material from carrier prior to signing BOL. Damaged material must be documented, and individuals notified (Manager, Buyer, and Quality Control).
• Receive material into the company business system to meet a 24 hour period
• Responsible for accurate count and receipt of material
• Responsible for accurate staging, put-away, issuing, and processing of material received into the warehouse.
• Run reports in the business system to measure and perform to KPI’s
• Perform daily cycle counts and record/report results
• Understand how to navigate through the company business system
• Able to use scanning devices to enter data into company business system
• Understand how to resolve material discrepancies with supplier deliveries and inventory errors
• Understand how to accurately count material using counting methods and scales
• Identify aged inventory (OSMI)
• Operate forklift, pallet jacks and other manual or motorized equipment as required to support material movement
• Able to safety load/unload box trucks, vans, flatbeds using forklifts or other material movers
• Understand the safety requirements when operating machinery
• Able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods of time
• Responsible for the organization and work center cleanliness
• Verify pull signal reporting and quantity being pulled are correctly scanned or entered into business system.
• Verify all material is packaged following Standard Work, with protection from damage, and satisfies the customer requirements.
• Preparation and Loading of shipments includes verify all material identified for loading is available, not damaged, and packaged correctly, during the steps taken to pull, stage, and load the shipment.
• All steps must be properly executed to validate the material being processed for shipment is both processed and assigned to the proper shipment load.
• Preparation and Loading of shipments includes stacking, serpentine banding, checker boarding floor spots, proper air bagging, and other dunnage as required.
• Preparation and Loading of shipments includes maximizing load cube, even weight distribution, and follows Standard Work for secure arrangement of the freight load for transport.
• Loaded shipments are to be photographed clearly and accurately to avoid inconclusive evidence if any claims were to arise.
• Responsible for properly staging material and bundles to sweep trucks for delivery to off-site warehouse
• Responsible for properly unloading material and bundles from sweep trucks for proper storage within the warehouse
• Must be able to accurately verify material being shipped and match it to manifest and sweep truck
• Must be able to accurately verify material being unloaded and match it to manifest and sweep truck
• Verify return sweeps are cleared and utilize new sweep number for record purposes.
• Make sure safety precautions are practiced when loading and unloading.
• Responsible for properly documenting shipments
• Responsible for requesting a cycle count report.
• Able to understand inventory material issues and how to reconcile.
• Other duties as required.
