Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Warehouse/Materials Handler to receive, stage, and deliver materials supporting production. You will safely operate pallet jacks, load/unload goods, and enter inventory transactions in ERP/MRP systems.

The role requires attention to inventory accuracy, adherence to safety protocols, and flexibility to adapt to changing processes. Responsibilities include cycle counts, inspections of incoming materials, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with material handling and material movement.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to use proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Flexibility to adjust to new processes and production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety protocols and PPE usage; practice proper lifting techniques.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; store tools properly.
  • Collaborate with team, supervisors, engineers, and quality control to resolve issues.
  • Show flexibility by overtime, cross-training, and adapting to new processes.

What You Will Do:


  • Receive, stage, issue, and deliver materials within the facility to support production schedules and customer orders.

  • Safely operate pallet jacks and other manual material handling equipment.

  • Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.

  • Accurately enter inventory transactions into ERP/MRP systems or scanning devices.

  • Perform cycle counts, assist with physical inventories, and report discrepancies to supervisors.

  • Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory documentation.

  • Adhere to safety protocols, use PPE and practice proper lifting techniques.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and properly store tools and equipment.

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to resolve issues and improve processes.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by working overtime when needed, cross-training in other areas, and adapting to new processes or technologies.

  • Other duties as assigned.


What You Need to Succeed:


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Familiarity with material handling and material movement.

  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Ability to use proper lifting techniques and material movement equipment effectively.

  • Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.


Physical Demands:


  • Ability to handle material and parts.

  • Perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands).

  • Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.

  • Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
