Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an experienced Material Program Manager to support the Naval Power Integrated Supply Chain (SSIS) portfolio. The role is remote, with travel up to 25% and coordination across program offices, engineering, operations, quality, contracts, and finance to enable material strategies for SSI programs.

The ideal candidate will lead SCM efforts, develop material program plans, and ensure on-time delivery while working in a cutting-edge defense environment.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience plus 3–5 years in a supply chain or related role.
  • Experience in a cross-functional IPT environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Prime Contract Requirements and Statements of Work (SOW) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in program, IPTL, and supplier meetings as a core SCM member.
  • Develop and execute material program plans (MPP) and subcontract management plans.
  • Own supplier management, including performance, metrics, and Make/Buy strategy.
  • Manage supplier and finance processes (risk/opportunity, BOM, forecasts).
  • Liaise between Program Office, engineering, operations, quality, contracts, and finance.

Raytheon has an opportunity for an experienced Material Program Manager (MPM) who will perform as a key member of the Naval Power Integrated Supply Chain organization. The ideal individual will support, and in some cases, lead Supply Chain Execution, Customer Proposal, and Program Start-up efforts for the Ship Systems Integration & Sustainment (SSIS) portfolio. If you enjoy developing creative solutions to challenging issues in a cutting-edge environment, then this role is for you. You will be the liaison between the program office, engineering, operations, quality, contracts, and finance organizations. The selected candidate is responsible for ensuring the successful development, coordination and of material strategies enabling the execution of SSI programs to meet supply chain, portfolio, and business objectives. This position is a remote role. The selected candidate will work with the hiring manager to set schedule. Some travel required (up to 25%).

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

What You Will Do:
  • Participate in program, IPTL, and supplier meetings as a core SCM member
  • Develop and execute material program plans (MPP) and subcontract management plans
  • Overall ownership of the supplier management process including supplier performance, Supply Chain metrics, Make/Buy Where strategy, strategic agreements
  • Overall ownership of the supplier and finance management process (i.e., Risk/Opportunity, Line of Balance, Metrics, Material sales forecasts)
  • Liaise between the Program Executive, Program Managers, IPTs and the Supply Chain organization
  • Oversee all SCM activities needed to meet program requirements, and ensure a strong link between various Supply Chain functions, including Sourcing, Logistics, and Production Control
  • Proactively address and complete urgent supply chain tasking (Purchase Requisitions integrity, Single/Sole Source Justifications, Supplier Statement of Work (SSOW), Purchase Order follow up
  • Represent the Supply Chain organization on policies, strategies, and objectives
  • Domestic travel not to exceed 20%
  • Implement continuous improvement through CORE, Six Sigma or related Lean methodologies/principals
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience 3 years experience in a supply chain role or related role such as Production Control, Operations, Finance or Supplier Engineering Experience working in a cross functional matrixed Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
We Prefer:
  • MPM level 4 certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Prime Contract Requirements and Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Experience with Supplier Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Expertise with Supply Chain / Production Control / Procurement processes, Special Access Programs / MRP systems, and requirements management
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
