Job summary

Advanced Energy in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Material Program Manager to lead cross-functional teams and optimize material strategy for PDP programs. You will drive costs, sourcing, and risk management to ensure prototypes, NPIs, and ramped production meet schedule and budget.

The role focuses on material availability, long-term sourcing, and inventory optimization, with collaboration across PDP, Operations, and Supply Chain. A strong background in purchasing and SCM is required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop strategic supplier relationships, solve problems creatively, and apply critical thinking skills
• Application of Value Chain and Total Cost of Ownership analysis techniques
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with suppliers and all levels within an organization
• Ability to collaborate & influence across departmental lines
• Excellent working knowledge of Purchasing, Production Control and Supply Chain Management
• Common knowledge of sheet metal, machining, PCBA and other manufacturing methods and cost drivers
• Highly effective organizational and time management skills proficient using Microsoft Office applications and ERP software

Responsibilities

• Model accurate material costs based on introductory and run-rate volumes; identify value chains and cost drivers, drive toward optimal costs with suppliers and design teams
• Develop sourcing plans to support prototype, NPI, ramp, and long-term production; align with commodity strategies
• Identify and mitigate long-term supply chain risks from new designs
• Execute supply chain deliverables required to release a product to production
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and data accuracy
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure support during PDP and manage performance
• Support inventory strategies to optimize engineering inventory and enable ramp to production
• Communicate milestones and requirements to Ops/SC teams
• Review ECOs for materials/Supply Chain impact
