Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a procurement and materials management professional to forecast, source, and coordinate supplier activities across engineering and manufacturing teams. This role emphasizes collaborating with suppliers, negotiating costs, and driving materials strategy to support product development and transitions.

Ideal candidates will partner with quality and engineering to resolve issues, manage source selections, and ensure on‑time delivery while meeting cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Performs make-versus-buy analysis to inform outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.

Responsibilities

• Forms Materials Core Team and coordinates product development deliverables.
• Collaborates with engineering to interpret requirements.
• Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations under supervision.
• Monitors supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost).
• Coordinates activities around source selection and price negotiation.
• Executes commercialization (transition) materials plan.
• Manages materials change control and publishes KPIs.
• Identifies long‑lead parts and inspection requirements with engineering.
• Mediates with quality and engineering to resolve supplier issues.
