EMS is hiring a 1st shift Press Operator for our facility in Hamburg, PA!

Position Summary:

Set up and operate automatic presses, compacting presses, or four slides to punch, notch, pierce, slot, blank, and form various products. Follow instructions for operating presses and check work with micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to ensure dimensions meet tolerances.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate presses, spot welders, and tapping machines.
• Perform bench operations using hand-held equipment.
• Use punch presses, degreasers, welders, pneumatic and foot presses, optical comparator scales, micrometers, gauges, templates, torque wrenches, verniers, calipers, thread comparators, plug and ring gauges.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.
• Wear all required PPE at all times.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic shop math skills.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
• Ability to use hand-held measurement instruments.
• Experience with continuous metal strip processing equipment is preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Heavy lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Standing for up to 90% of the time.
