Job summary

Morgan Olson LLC is seeking a Supervisor – Material Planning to oversee the flow of materials in a manufacturing environment. You will coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics to meet schedules, monitor inventory, and optimize material supply while controlling costs.

Lead a team of material planners and drive continuous improvements using PFEP and lean principles. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, strong analytical and ERP/MRP skills, and proven leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in material planning, inventory management, or supply chain management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in material planning software and ERP systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• MRP: forecasting material needs and scheduling procurement.
• ERP familiarity with SAP or Oracle to manage supply chain processes.
• Inventory optimization using PFEP methodologies.
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
• Forecasting based on production schedules and market trends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement material planning strategies to ensure material availability for production.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics to align supply with schedules.
• Analyze material requirements and forecast future needs based on plans and sales forecasts.
• Identify and resolve shortages or excesses to prevent production delays.
• Ensure on-time delivery performance with suppliers.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce costs.
• Supervise and mentor a team of material planners.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
