Job summary

Griffith Foods is seeking a Material Planner to manage inventory and ensure timely, in-full delivery of raw materials that support production schedules and service goals.

You will drive availability via MRP, manage POs, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to prevent shortages and optimize inventory levels. This onsite role in Alsip, IL offers growth in supply chain planning and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Engineering required.
• 3+ years ERP and MRP experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years experience in a Supply Chain environment.
• Willingness to work onsite in ALSIP, IL 5 days per week.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Drive raw material availability by analyzing MRP requirements and managing purchase orders.
• Partner with Scheduling, Production, Quality, and suppliers to align material supply with plans.
• Identify, expedite, and resolve shortages to minimize disruptions.
• Optimize inventory by monitoring parameters and slowing-moving stock.
• Lead reporting on PO management, inventory health, and ingredient changes.
• Develop supply plans and monitor supplier performance for reliability.
• Resolve supplier service issues and support performance reviews.
• Analyze supplier metrics to identify improvements.

You'll gain exposure to demand planning, inventory management, supplier collaboration, and operations, creating a strong foundation for career growth within supply chain and planning functions.As a Material Planner , your responsibilities will include:Drive raw material availability by analyzing MRP requirements, managing purchase orders, and optimizing inventory levels to support production and customer demand.Partner with Scheduling, Production, Quality, and suppliers to align material supply with production plans and quickly respond to changing business needs.Identify, expedite, and resolve material shortages and supply issues to minimize production disruptions and maintain service levels.Optimize inventory performance by monitoring planning parameters, managing at-risk and slow-moving inventory, and recommending corrective actions.Lead reporting and coordination efforts related to purchase order management, inventory health, raw material shortages, formula revisions, and ingredient changes.Develop supply plans and monitor supplier performance to ensure reliable material availability.Resolve supplier service issues, drive corrective actions, and support vendor performance reviews.Analyze supplier metrics and order history to identify improvement opportunities.The Material Planner position is well-suited for you if you:Leverage effective negotiation skills to support business objectives.Demonstrate the ability to make decisions with strong analytical skills.Listen actively, assess issues, and take decisive action.Balance urgency with a calm, solution-focused approach.Proactively solve problems and drive continuous improvement.Qualified candidates will have:Bachelor’s Degree, Supply Chain or Engineering3+ years ERP and MRP experience in a manufacturing environment3+ years experience in a Supply Chain environmentWillingness to work onsite in ALSIP, IL 5 days per weekCandidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
