Job summary

Aviso, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Material Planner / Cost Accountant for a contract role to support manufacturing operations and corporate finance, merging procurement, inventory control, and cost analysis.

You will evaluate MRP requirements, monitor inventory, perform standard cost maintenance, analyze variances, and assist with monthly closes and audit documentation, collaborating across departments in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Background in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline.
• Experience in material planning, inventory management, or cost accounting within manufacturing.
• Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and inventory transaction workflows.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, condition formulas).
• Strong collaboration across departments and prioritization of competing demands.

Responsibilities

• Material Planning & Inventory Control: Evaluate MRP requirements and coordinate material purchases aligned with production schedules and demand forecasts.
• Monitor component availability to identify shortages, excess inventory, and risks.
• Liaise with vendors and procurement to track orders and mitigate delays.
• Maintain system parameters, safety stock, master data, and BOM updates.
• Support engineering changes, substitutions, new product introductions, and cycle counts.
• Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis: Perform standard cost maintenance for assemblies, materials, and finished goods.
• Analyze PPV, material usage, scrap, labor, overhead, and variances.
• Reconcile inventory with GL and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist monthly close with journal entries, valuations, reserves, and audit docs.
• Generate reports on inventory valuation, cost trends, and efficiency.
