Job summary

SPX in Tilton, NH is seeking a skilled Materials Planner to ensure on-time manufacture and delivery of goods. The role focuses on planning material schedules, coordinating with warehouse and purchasing, and maintaining accurate inventory and ERP/MRP records.

Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years in planning within manufacturing, excellent communication, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepares material schedules for manufacture of goods to meet shipping dates.
  • Establish sequence and lead time of each material to meet scheduling needs.
  • Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material and meet production schedule.
  • Assist with inventory management and cycle counting.
  • Notify Sales/Production of schedule impacts due to material delays.
  • Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
  • Complete status reports such as materials inventory.

$2,000 SIGN ON BONUS!

Duties:
  • Follow safe work practices and procedures and ensure a "safety first" culture in every task undertaken.
  • Plans and prepares material schedules for manufacture of military or commercial products.
  • Establishes sequence and lead time of each material to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes material shortages and requirements from MRP system.
  • Assist with inventory management and cycle counting.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
  • Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
  • Notify Sales/Production of any schedule impacts as result of material delays.
  • Coordinate/expedite material to ensure schedules are achieved.
  • Completes status reports, such as materials inventory.
  • Assist with correcting inventory as required.
  • Organizing subcontracted material to the vendor.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements:
  1. Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  2. Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
  3. Excellent communication skills.
  4. Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English.
  5. Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
  6. In-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
  7. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  8. Minimum of 5 years planning experience in a related industry.
  9. Good communications skills.
