Wabash is seeking a Materials Planner to support production with material availability, planning, and inventory accuracy across multiple lines. You will convert planned orders, monitor daily picks, and work closely with purchasing and coordinators to resolve shortages and discrepancies.
The role requires a high school diploma, ability to pass a drug screen and PIV training, plus solid math, reading, and communication skills. Training provided in AS400 and related systems.
Material Planner are tasked to work on a variety of different components that vary from location to location. Activities include, but are not limited to, reviewing BOM’s, coordinating and supporting daily counts, communicating daily critical parts to purchasing, converting planned orders into production orders, covering line planners when needed, walking the lines and Identifying parts that can be returned and assisting production with correcting inventory so they can return excess materials, Monitoring picks, Kanban racks, and negatives.

Experience and education are a plus; however, it’s not required. Wabash provides training for all material handler positions. Upon receiving a letter from us, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor. Working conditions may consist of loud noise, welding, paint fumes, and grinding dust.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites where the noise level can be very loud with high temperatures and be exposed to outside elements at times.

As an employee in this department, you are regularly required to stand, walk, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs a full range of motion in arms and hands in this position. All personnel must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. In this position, some employees also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
