Job description

The Material Operator is responsible for accurate order picking, receiving, put-away, loading, unloading, and shipping of products to meet company standards, including safety, security, damage prevention, and productivity. Equipment used includes reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and sit-down forklifts.

Pay: $20.25/HR

Essential Job Functions

1. Perform material handling activities such as order picking, packing, checking, unloading, and loading of products.
2. Operate material handling equipment safely, including electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, stand-up forklifts, dock stockers, and sit-down forklifts. Charge batteries as needed.
3. Participate in inventories, labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and re-packing. Assist with pallet repairs and trailer cleanouts.
4. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring warehouse security.
5. Follow all safety and security regulations and complete safety training timely.
6. Use tools and equipment properly, stopping unsafe activities using Stop Work Authority.
7. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality; overtime may be required.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience operating material handling equipment such as reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and sit-down forklifts.
• Experience with RF scanners and WMS systems is preferred.
• Ability to follow procedures and work instructions, read and write legibly, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Capable of performing basic calculations.

Physical & Work Environment Demands

Must be able to lift and stack products weighing 5 to 75 pounds, push carts, and perform tasks involving sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and walking for extended periods. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, and focus adjustment. The environment may be hot or cold, and additional hours may be required.
