Job summary

Saint-Gobain Group in Lexington, NC is hiring a Material Movers associate to assemble and transport large bulk shipping containers using a forklift. You will load, unload, and move totes and boxes, helping maintain smooth production flows while following safety, quality, and operational guidelines.

This hands-on position requires practical forklift experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work with teams across shifts.

• Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

What's the job?

Our Material Movers Assemble & transport large bulk shipping containers using a forklift.

Essential Functions

• Obtains empty containers and lids and or boxes from receiving.
• Assembles totes & boxes & super-sacks and places them on pallets.
• Loads empty assembled containers on production chopper conveyors prior to their filling cycle.
• Removes full containers promptly when their filling cycle ends.
• Conducts final quality check for totes before transporting them.
• Transport containers to warehouse, or to the inspection area as designated.
• Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs to equipment or operating systems.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
• Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
• Must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining container parts, assembling them to meet production cycles.
• Keeps assembly area clean.
• Cleans chopper conveyors continuously throughout the shift.
• Drives a fork truck to move all materials handled.
• Transports product to warehouse (fork truck training available).
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned
