Job summary

Advanced Roofing, Inc is seeking a Material Handling Supervisor for our Ft. Lauderdale, FL facility. This full-time role supervises warehouse staff, manages inventory, oversees materials handling, and coordinates with roofing and HVAC supply teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in warehousing with 1+ year in supervision, forklift certification, and strong leadership. Onsite role with comprehensive safety and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training, certifications, or college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience.
  • At least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Experience handling roofing and HVAC materials.
  • Previous construction industry experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train warehouse staff on operations, safety, and equipment use.
  • Lead daily huddles to review schedules, safety, and workflow.
  • Oversee inventory control, cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain 98% inventory accuracy through monitoring and controls.
  • Track expiration-sensitive materials and communicate usage priorities.
  • Ensure pick lists are completed accurately and materials are loaded/unloaded safely.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to plan material needs.
  • Audit receiving procedures and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and quality.
  • Operate and oversee forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant.
  • Coordinate repairs and report maintenance needs to Fleet & Equipment.
  • Enforce safety procedures and OSHA/state/federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff on operations, safety, and equipment use

  • Ensure warehouse and facility remain clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant
  • Coordinate repairs and report maintenance needs to the Fleet & Equipment team
  • Enforce safety procedures and compliance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Technical training, certifications, or college degree (preferred)

Experience

Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience (required)
At least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role (required)
Experience handling roofing and HVAC materials (required)
Previous construction industry experience (preferred)
Forklift certification (preferred)

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Successful Pre-Employment Drug and Agility tests.
  • Ability to lift 100 LBS or more.

Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and warehouse management systems.
Ability to conduct accurate inventory counts and maintain high accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to pass a background check and maintain a drug-free culture.
