Come Grow with us! We are seeking experienced Material Handlers for 3rd Shift at our Portland, TN facility. Pay starts at $22.00 per hour plus an additional 5% shift premium. Employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance after 30 days of employment. GENERAL SUMMARY

Ensure the safe and efficient movement of products throughout the system by working in the weld, press, and warehouse areas, ensuring timely product/dunnage movement. Demonstrate a continuous improvement attitude with a willingness to adopt new ideas and skills using TQPS principles.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Report all quality, production, or safety issues to the team or group leader. Move non-conforming material to the MRB area.
2. Ensure shipped quality parts match customer requirements and verify customer orders against actual parts moved.
3. Stage dies for changeovers and transport to the tool room as needed.
4. Move materials from storage to designated work areas.
5. Assist in die removal and installation during changeovers.
6. Participate in monthly and yearly physical inventories.
7. Unload inbound trailers and organize dunnage in designated areas.
8. Ensure proper staging and scanning of parts and containers in Shop Edge or storage areas.
9. Remove labels from all containers.
10. Complete daily tow motor checklist.
11. Maintain 5-S standards in your area.
12. Suggest improvements via continuous improvement plans and performance awards.
13. Be available for overtime as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or GED; Fork truck certification; Basic computer skills; Valid driver’s license; Basic math skills.

Experience: 2 years forklift experience preferably in manufacturing; Good communication skills; Experience in safe material handling; Manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.

Personal/Technical Skills: Ability to work in a team; Be accurate, efficient, proactive; Conduct basic maintenance; Work at a fast pace; Be accountable, teachable, approachable; Problem-solving skills; Capable of lifting 50 pounds; Stand for at least 8 hours.

Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English; Spanish preferred but not required.

Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

Manufacturing environments with moderate noise; PPE required in certain areas; Possible exposure to cold, dust, heat, odor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand for extended periods, talk, see, hear, walk, sit, lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
