Job summary

BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler / Forklift Operator at our Grand Rapids distribution center. You will operate forklifts, load and unload materials, store items, and prepare shipping paperwork in a safety‑driven, team oriented environment.

One year of warehouse or forklift experience is preferred; ability to lift up to 75 lbs is required. The fixed wage is $21.31 per hour, Monday–Friday with a consistent schedule.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklift to transport products.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders and safety material.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.

• Safe work record and stable work history
