Job summary

BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our distribution center in the United States. You will operate a forklift, load and unload materials, and handle paperwork for distribution while maintaining safety and accuracy.

The role offers a fixed wage of $25.90 per hour, a Monday–Friday schedule, and comprehensive benefits starting day one, including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely operate a forklift to transport products and load/unload trucks.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, and safety material.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the workspace.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.

The fixed rate is $25.90 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
