Job summary

The Shaw Group Inc. is seeking a Materials Handler at the Walker, LA site. You will load, unload and move materials using manual methods or equipment, ensuring timely delivery to production lines.

You will coordinate transfers, inspect received materials, track inventory, and maintain accurate records while upholding strict safety standards and housekeeping. Prior forklift experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience working with pipe, fittings, flanges and valves is a plus.
• Forklift and material receiving experience are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move materials manually or with equipment to support production schedules.
• Coordinate material transfers between departments to meet priorities.
• Inspect materials for conformance to specifications and track status.
• Maintain records of materials and inventory using manual or computerized systems.
• Follow safety rules and project requirements; perform housekeeping duties.
• Assist with estimating material quantities as tasks progress.
