Job summary

O'Neal Steel has an opening for a 2nd shift Loader at our Shelbyville, IN facility. The Loader will load and unload material within a warehouse using equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, and spotter trucks.

Candidates must operate a variety of handling equipment, maintain a safe work area, and perform duties 70% of the time. Overtime may be required and a background check plus drug test are required upon offer.

Qualifications

• Operate a wide range of material handling equipment including forklift and cranes.
• Demonstrate planning and problem-solving skills for load operations.
• Safely load multi-stop customer deliveries and verify order details.
• Understand DOT weight regulations for legal and over-dimensional loads.
• Read a tape measure accurately and maintain a safe work area.
• Be willing to work overtime as needed and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload material using forklifts, cranes, and conveyors.
• Move material within the warehouse and to trucks/trains as required.
• Verify material, quantity, packaging and special instructions for orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
• Learn product knowledge and rigging procedures across products.
