Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation in the United States is seeking a Material Handler and Forklift Operator to join our distribution center. You will operate forklifts, load/unload building materials, and help maintain safety and efficiency on the floor.

We offer a fixed wage of $20.22 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits starting day one, and opportunities for growth within a leading wholesale distributor of building and industrial products.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.
