Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) in Livonia, Michigan, is seeking a Material Handler to efficiently move and organize materials across the facility. You will stock production areas, verify material readiness, and ensure timely delivery to workstations while maintaining a safe work environment.

The role requires experience in shipping/receiving or warehousing, ability to read work instructions, and proficiency with basic computer/inventory systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse role within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, manuals, and other written correspondence.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and inventory management software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, delivering thoughts and ideas clearly both written and verbally.
• Experience operating powered industrial trucks (e.g. forklifts)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate material handling equipment such as sit-down fork trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks to move items between receiving, storage, and production areas.
• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials listed on production orders.
• Deliver materials to workstations as requested and remove finished goods or scrap in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring aisles are clear and materials are stored in designated locations.
• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
• Maintain daily maintenance checks of fork trucks including compliance with end of shift requirements (5S, charging, etc.).
• Adhere to all facility safety protocols, including PPE and safe lifting and equipment operation guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and increase efficiency.
• Assist with other Shipping/Receiving/Packaging activities as needed
