Job Overview

In this position, the employee is responsible for meeting production requirements, following appropriate instructions and safety methods while performing basic general warehouse duties with the department they are assigned to. Warehouse employees may be asked, at any point throughout the day, to move to a different department or physical location to assist in meeting production requirements and customer demands. The essential functions listed below reflect the responsibilities of a General Warehouse employee in the Pick/Pack/Ship Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Select the correct size carton based on order.
  • Place labels on cartons so that they are properly oriented for system scanners.
  • Picks and prepares product for shipment, ensuring the correct quantity, ISBN and type of product, and inspects books visually before placing them in the shipping carton.
  • Records the proper adjustments for short shipments on the carton.
  • Moves from location to location when work is slow or heavy.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Enforces established safety, health, and housekeeping policies and procedures to minimize injuries, loss of production time, and damage.
  • Conforms to all company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook).
  • Complies with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Hours of Work

11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., with occasional mandatory overtime as needed.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Other Skills and Abilities

Basic computer and keyboarding skills and the ability to learn WMS.
