Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a Material Handler for our shipping department in the United States. The role moves materials in shipping areas using electric, gas, propane, or diesel forklifts and overhead cranes, with emphasis on accuracy and safety to support production and shipping.

Requirements include a minimum of two years of forklift and crane operation experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, basic arithmetic, and the ability to obtain an in-house overhead crane certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ forklift and crane operating experience in heavy material handling.
• High School diploma or equivalent; ability to perform basic arithmetic and read simple instructions.
• An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials in shipping areas.
• Load, unload and band materials as required with accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.
• Log transfers in the computer system and obtain necessary shipping documents.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy as needed.
