Job summary

Warehouse Services, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our on-site team in Piedmont, SC. You will support receiving, storage, and shipping operations, and maintain accurate records and reports.

The role requires manual, clerical, and data entry skills, and you will work with MS Office and our WMS system to ensure precise inventory control and timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating material handling equipment.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience in receiving, storing, and shipping material.
• Familiarity with export documentation and logistics processes.

Responsibilities

• Operates material handling equipment to receive, store, process orders, and ship material.
• Performs receiving and shipping inspections and verifies quantity, condition, and documentation.
• Maintains inbound/outbound logs and reports; updates WMS.
• Performs cycle counts and inventory control; maintains records.

Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, performs a variety of assignments, both technical and clerical, to receive, inspect, store and ship material, but not limited to receipt, control, preparation, material distribution, records, and reports. Receives general direction on new assignment aspects and instructions as to how to perform required tasks and results expected. Duties require manual, clerical, and data entry skills.

• Operates material handling equipment as required to receive, store, process orders, and ship material.
• Performs receiving and shipping inspections and identifies all incoming and outgoing material shipments to determine: a) quantity is as ordered b) no damage is apparent, and c) documentation is available as required.
• Performs physical material inventories to establish, maintain, and document the receipt, shipment and control of sample inventories.
• Maintains inbound and outbound logs and reports.
• Maintains WMS update on all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Performs load planning based on pre-established criteria.
• Contact with carriers for inbound appointments.
• Contact with carriers with outbound schedules.
• Investigation of complaints and development of RCCA.
• Generations of OS & D.
• Performs cycle counts and checks inventories.
• Check, maintains and responds to E-Mail.
• Maintain files, data entry, answer and direct incoming calls.
• Customer relations.
• Must have strong skills with the use of Microsoft Office Programs.
• Knowledge of national accounts and especially export documentation
