Job summary

Carolina Container LLC is seeking a warehouse operative to responsibly dispose of waste and recyclable paper. You will run the baler, operate forklifts, manage hogging of scrap, and help with maintenance and record-keeping in a fast-paced printing facility.

The role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and accurate inventory of materials and bales. Flexibility for expanding duties and routine manual labor is expected.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in corrugated industry preferred.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Knowledge of equipment design and capabilities for efficient operation.
• Read and interpret production specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate the baler in an efficient and safe manner.
• Safely operate standard warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Operate hogger and hog up unusable paper and corrugated scrap.
• Turn in maintenance work orders for needed repairs and assist in preventive maintenance.
• Weigh and record bales and maintain accurate recycling logs.
• Maintain inventories of bailing wire, wax, and tags; manage scrap bales.
• Assist in two-man feeds as necessary.
• Duties may be expanded and additional duties assigned.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the proper disposal of all waste materials and recyclable paper products throughout the printing facility, for all activities associated with safely running the baler including operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate the baler in an efficient manner following all safety protocols.


• Safely operate standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.


• Operate hogger and hog up all unusable paper and corrugated scrap.


• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.


• Weigh and record bales of product and keep accurate records of what is recycled.


• Maintain inventories of bailing wire, wax, and no wax tags, and scrap bales.


• Hand tied wax bales wires.


• Assist in two man feeds as necessary.


• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Required to maintain a current Fork Lift Operator License.
