Job summary

Foot Locker is hiring a Material Handler in Junction City, KS. You will load/unload freight, sort by PO/SKU, and use an RF gun to locate merchandise for shipment to stores, scanning boxes and applying proper labels for conveyors and tilt trays.

Qualifications

Position Overview

The Material Handler is primarily responsible for accurately loading and unloading freight safely and efficiently; sorting according to purchase order (PO) and SKU; using a radio frequency (RF) gun to locate and select merchandise for shipment to stores; scanning boxes, opening cases, and then placing them on the correct conveyor for sorting; packing single and multiple customer orders; placing correct shipping labels onto packages and placing on correct conveyor for shipment; inducting apparel and footwear onto the tilt trays and packing product sorted by the tilt trays for shipment to stores. Seasonal positions can last up to 90 days with the option to convert or extend based on business needs and performance.

Shift Details

Available Full-time Shifts:

• Weekend Shift – Friday through Sunday (12 hour shifts)

Responsibilities

• Accurately use and operate an RF scanning device.
• Sort product according to purchase order and SKU.
• Correctly match and place shipping labels.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Bring problems to the attention of the supervisor, manager, safety director, or HR manager.
• Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical Demands:

• Required to stand during scheduled hours.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Other Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years old to apply.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, write, conduct business-related mathematics, and analyze data as required.
• Basic proficiency in speaking and understanding English to comprehend safety instructions, participate in safety drills and effectively communicate in case of emergencies.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months of previous experience in a warehouse facility preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base rate paid bi-weekly: $18.50 per hour.

Shift Differentials:

• Weekend Shift: a payout of $40.00 if you meet your full 36.00 scheduled hours.
