Responsibilities

Hamilton Company is seeking a Material Handler-Saw Operator to join the machine shop production team. The role involves organizing and moving materials, including receiving, kitting, and documenting material usage within the shop.

Employee responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring regular and consistent attendance.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities.
  • Completing assigned tasks accurately and on time.
  • Communicating and documenting daily activities using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
  • Reporting issues to the supervisor.

Material Handler responsibilities include:

  • Operating equipment safely and consistently.
  • Collaborating with supervisors and area leads regarding production orders.
  • Documenting production orders, material counts, and area maintenance daily.
  • Tracking material consumption for production orders.
  • Packaging, labeling, and transporting materials to subsequent production stages.
  • Receiving and organizing new material shipments.
  • Managing chip bins and operating saws to cut materials.
  • Updating inventory records for materials and consumables.
  • Communicating with planning and production teams about stock levels.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and demands.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience maintaining production databases or inventories.
  • Adherence to established procedures.
  • Experience with equipment such as measuring tapes, carts, pallets, forklifts, Kardex systems, and saws.
Education/Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Mechanical experience and aptitude are a plus.
