Job summary

IMMI in Westfield, IN is seeking a Material Handler – Receiving to unload, inspect, and process incoming materials for production. You will ensure accurate inventory, proper documentation, and safe handling of goods, using ERP systems and RF scanners.

The role requires experience in receiving or warehouse environments, forklift/pallet jack operation, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time, on-site position with a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Must be able to operate a pallet jack to move material for extended periods.
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and handle repetitive motions safely.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and push/pull materials as needed.
• Ability to work in variable temperatures and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and verify incoming materials against packing lists or purchase orders.
• Inspect materials for accuracy, quality, and damage before storing.
• Label and store received materials in designated locations.

Job Summary:

The Material Handler – Receiving is responsible for unloading, inspecting, and processing incoming materials and components for use in production. This role ensures accurate inventory management, proper documentation, and safe handling of all received items.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:

• Must have experience working in a receiving or warehouse environment.
• Must have experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Must have experience working with RF scanners and computers.
• Unload deliveries and verify incoming materials against packing lists or purchase orders
• Inspect materials for accuracy, quality, and damage before storing
• Accurately label and store received materials in designated locations
• Enter receiving information into the ERP or inventory management system
• Communicate discrepancies or damaged goods to the receiving supervisor or purchasing team
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material‑handling equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area in compliance with safety guidelines
• Support inventory counts and cycle counting as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to operate a pallet jack to move material for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to step up and down, balance, stoop, reach, stand, walk, pull, push, lift, grasp, and do repetitive motions.
• Must be able to move material from one pallet laying on the floor to another.
• Must be able to lift to 40 pounds constantly, 60 pounds occasionally, and team lifting more than 60 pounds infrequently.
• Must have the ability for close vision, distant vision, and depth perception.
• Must be able to work with dirt/dust, noise, and powered industrial equipment.
• Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures.
• The use of high visibility outerwear and toe protection is required.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in warehousing, receiving, or inventory control
• Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• This work is deadline‑oriented, requires multitasking, fluctuating work schedule, and flexibility within the workday.
• Frequent use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
• Requires the ability for close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
• Requires working and interacting with others, both in person and through phone, electronic, and written correspondence, and the ability to listen effectively, communicate clearly, maintain attention to detail, and perform focused work.
• This position may require extended travel.
