Job summary

U.S. Lumber Group in Madison, TN is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler (Forklift Operator) to join our team.

The role focuses on safely operating forklifts to load, unload, move, stage, and transport material, with duties including banding, wrapping, and ensuring accuracy. Requirements include a high school diploma, at least one year of warehouse experience, forklift experience or certification preferred, and basic math and ability to read tickets and codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read tickets and codes; basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to load/unload, move, stage, pull orders and transport material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized warehouse area and ensure correct location of products.
• Work cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees to complete workload.
• Provide accurate service to customers with attention to detail and timeliness.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy, and track/trace issues.
• Read and understand tickets and product codes; learn to use chainsaw and Holtec Saw.

• Shift hours are 7am -4pm, Mon - Fri.
• Hourly pay rate is $20 - 22/hour (depends on experience)

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to complete assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders and transporting material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct location and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in order to complete required workload.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products.
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Must be able to read a tape measure. Accurately pull daily orders.

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
• Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.
