U.S. LUMBER, a SBP brand, is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler (Forklift Operator) for our Madison, TN facility. The role involves forklift operation, loading/unloading, inventory checks, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment, with emphasis on safety and quality.

The position offers benefits beginning after 30 days, a 7am–4pm workweek, and opportunities for advancement within a values-driven organization that prioritizes people and communities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Prior lumber experience desired.
• Engineered Lumber experience preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) to load/unload, move, stage, pull orders and transport material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized warehouse area and ensure correct location of products.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and coworkers to complete workload.
• Provide accurate service to customers with attention to detail and timely completion of tasks.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and tracking issues.
• Read tickets and product codes; use chainsaw and Holtec Saw.
• Read a tape measure and accurately pull daily orders.

• Shift hours are 7am -4pm, Mon - Fri.
• Hourly pay rate is $20 - 22/hour (depends on experience)

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to complete assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders and transporting material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct location and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in order to complete required workload.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products.
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Must be able to read a tape measure. Accurately pull daily orders.

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
