Job summary

Roeslein & Associates is seeking a Material Handler in Red Bud, Illinois, to support production operations by managing materials needed for fabrication and assembly activities. Responsibilities include inventory management and ensuring safe material handling.

Sign‑On and Relocation Bonus Available

This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign‑on bonus; 50% paid after 30 days and 50% paid after 6 months of employment. In addition, candidates relocating from more than 50 miles from the Red Bud, IL facility are eligible for a $5,000 relocation bonus to help cover moving expenses. Employees must remain employed for 12 months to retain the relocation bonus.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Department Team Lead, this position supports production operations by receiving, organizing, staging, and delivering materials needed for fabrication and assembly activities. This role helps ensure production teams have the right materials at the right time while maintaining inventory accuracy and safe material handling practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verify, match, count, and kit material per customer drawings and specifications.
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording inventory location.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying parts required for work orders and delivers materials to the designated work areas.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Report any discrepancies to team leader.
• Material handling duties and minor general maintenance.
• Regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
• Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide personal tools according to the department tool list.
• Responsible for area housekeeping.
• Participate in the processes of continuous improvement including efforts to meet company smart goals.
• Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
• Ability to read blue print drawings is required.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs preferred. Must be able to learn and utilize company specific software such as RoesTrac.
• Great organization skills and attention to detail are required.
• Problem solving skills are required.
• High level of energy and motivation.
• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends based on production needs.
• Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures. Potential exposure to jobsites both domestically and internationally; living accommodations in some foreign assignments may not meet expected U.S. standards.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, lift, push, pull, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Must be able to stand/walk 75% of the time and sit 25% of the time.
