Job summary

Hyson in Brecksville, OH is seeking a Material Handler to manage the safe movement of materials from receiving through outbound shipment. This role requires forklift operation, replenishment of lines, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will perform cycle counts, maintain organized storage, and ensure safety and quality in all tasks while working with production, quality, shipping, and receiving teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in manufacturing or warehousing/materials handling.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience with packing slips, work orders, and basic docs.
• Able to read and interpret packing slips and related docs.
• Lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout shift.
• Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems preferred.
• Experience with cycle counting and physical inventory preferred.
• Familiarity with 5S and Lean manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments; verify against POs and packing slips; inspect for damage.
• Transport raw materials, WIP, and finished goods using forklifts/pallet jacks.
• Replenish production lines and work cells with correct materials.
• Stage and load finished goods for outbound shipment; verify orders.
• Maintain organized storage areas; store materials safely and correctly.
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory; report discrepancies.
• Complete documentation and system transactions accurately.
• Operate material handling equipment safely per procedures and OSHA regs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area; follow 5S standards and safety policies.
• Notify supervisor of shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues.
• Perform other related duties; adhere to the Code of Ethics.
