Job summary

Five Star Management is seeking a dedicated Material Handler in Houston, TX to monitor looms and manage bobbin placement. You will ensure safety compliance, perform accurate reporting, and maintain a clean working environment.

The ideal candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work independently, and communicate effectively. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred, and familiarity with safety regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Sewing knowledge or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality practices.
• Report incidents and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Place warp and weft bobbins in designated areas.
• Accurately scan bobbin pallet tickets.
• Complete production reports and collect empty cores.
• Operate press machine handle and report malfunctions.

Job Location: Houston, TX 77041

The material handler is responsible for monitoring looms, placing warp, and weft bobbins along with machinery. Responsible for weight scrap from looms and make final bales.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance regarding Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Good Housekeeping practices for all activities.
• Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition identified in the workplace.
• Places warp and weft bobbins in assigned areas.
• Scan tickets of bobbin pallets in the system accurately.
• Complete production report.
• Collect empty cores from the looms.
• Operate press machine handle.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or unusual operations to supervisor for troubleshooting.
• Adhere to housekeeping standards and all company safety rules and regulations.
• Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
• Conduct other duties as assigned by management.

Experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Competence in operating basic tools and measuring devices (e.g., tape measure, scale).
• Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.
• High frequency of handling heavy equipment (such as pallet jack, electric pallet jack, etc.).

Working Conditions

• Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
