Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a manufacturing associate in South Chesterfield, VA to load/unload metal parts at the paint line, help meet daily production goals, and identify parts using work order information.

You will contribute to zero-defect quality, uphold safety procedures, complete training, communicate across shifts, and support continuous improvement with the production team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 12 months manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Strong and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload all metal parts required for daily fabrication at the paint line.
• Complete daily activities in the work area to meet production goals.
• Assist in identifying parts and descriptions using work order information.
• Develop and maintain a high quality standard – zero defects; seek continuous improvements.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
• Understand safety procedures and model proper use of safety gear and apparel.
• Complete and participate in training including manufacturing, quality, and safety procedures.
• Communicate job status between shifts and maintain work in progress.
• Adapt quickly to changing business requirements and shift gears as needed.
• Support continuous improvement to optimize resources, reduce costs, and improve quality.

Responsibilities

• Loading/unloading all metal parts required for daily fabrication at the paint line.
• Complete daily activities in the work area to ensure daily production goals are met.
• Assisting in the identification of parts and part descriptions using work order information.
• Developing and maintaining the highest quality standard – zero defects. Works continuously to improve all areas.
• Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Understanding all basic safety procedures and setting an example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel.
• Completing and participating in all training to include manufacturing practices, quality practices, and safety procedures.
• Communication of job status between shifts and continuation of work in progress.
• Quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements.
• Helps establish continuous improvement processes that result in the most effective use of all resources, reducing costs, and improving quality.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a minimum of 12 months experience
• Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to sit, stoop, and/or kneel
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Be able to stand and walk for the majority of the work day

• Must have good teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors, drivers and/or vendors.
• Occasional extended hours are required.
• Must have a positive attitude.
