Job summary

Seaport Steel Company in Seattle, WA is seeking a Material Handler I with overhead crane responsibilities. You will operate traveling or stationary overhead crane to lift, move, and position steel loads within the production facility, ensuring safe handling and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load.
• Manipulates crane controls to regulate speed and direction of movement.
• Use hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires.
• Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Inspect crane for defects and report issues to supervisor.
• Assist with training newly hired Material Handler I.
