Job summary

RATLIFF INDUSTRIES is hiring for a full-time, on-site warehouse role in Texas. You will operate overhead cranes and forklifts to receive, identify, and stage steel materials for fabrication, while maintaining inventory and safety procedures.

Expect hands-on work, lifting, moving parts, and coordination with logistics teams. Pay starts at $17.00 per hour, with benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with steel grades, profiles, and sizes.
  • Proficient in safe rigging and lifting practices.
  • Physical stamina (lifting, standing, bending, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and Inspecting Materials: unload with forklifts/cranes, inspect for quality and quantity, report damage.
  • Material Identification and Organization: label, tag, store to maintain workflow.
  • Supplying Workstations: deliver to fabrication stations and move parts to next process.
  • Using Equipment Safely: operate forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks; wear PPE.
  • Inventory Control: track stock, assist counts, update logs.
  • Support Fabrication Operations: remove scrap, keep areas clean.
  • Shipping and Packaging: prepare for shipment and coordinate with shipping.

Job description:

*MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN OVERHEAD CRANE AND FORKLIFT*

1. Receiving and Inspecting Materials

  • Unload incoming steel deliveries (plates, beams, tubes, etc.) using forklifts, cranes, or hoists.
  • Inspect materials for quality, correct type, and quantity.
  • Document and report any damage or discrepancies.

2. Material Identification and Organization

  • Label and tag materials accurately (heat numbers, grade, size).
  • Organize and store materials in designated areas to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Ensure all steel stock is easily accessible and safely stored.

3. Supplying Workstations

  • Deliver raw materials to fabrication stations (cutting, welding, machining).
  • Retrieve completed parts and move them to the next process or storage area.

4. Using Equipment Safely

  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and rigging equipment.
  • Secure loads properly to avoid damage or injury.
  • Follow all shop safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

5. Inventory Control

  • Track inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Update inventory systems (manual logs)

6. Support Fabrication Operations

  • Remove scrap and leftover materials for recycling or disposal.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.

7. Shipping and Packaging

  • Prepare fabricated parts for shipment (wrapping, crating, labeling).
  • Load trucks or containers for outgoing shipments.
  • Coordinate with logistics or shipping departments.
