Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an entry-level Material Handler to support the flow of materials on site in Elkwood, VA. The role involves lifting, carrying, and stacking items and using various material handling equipment with on-the-job training provided.

Under supervision, you will learn safe handling practices, assist foremen, and perform tasks to keep operations efficient. This position is on-site and offers potential growth with benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Entry-level; on-the-job training provided.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

Physically handles materials to ensure movement is optimized; lifts, carries, stacks items.
Operates motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, some of which may require specialized training.
Responds attentively to training from foreman or more senior handlers in order to increase own knowledge of work processes.
Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.
