Delta Steel, Inc. is seeking Material Handlers with overhead crane experience to support warehouse and production operations.

The role offers a night schedule (5:00 PM - 5:00 AM) with shift differential pay, overtime opportunities, eligibility for a monthly profit incentive, and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include operating 10-20 ton remote-controlled overhead cranes to move steel materials, loading and transporting beams and plates, and organizing materials per work

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year crane experience preferred; training available for entry-level.
• High school diploma or GED are required.
• Experience in a steel service center or fabrication environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions.
• Basic math skills and ability to measure materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate remote-controlled overhead cranes (10-20 ton) to move steel materials.
• Load, unload, and transport steel beams, plate, and other materials to designated areas.
• Build and stage customer orders based on work orders and production requirements.
• Organize and maintain material locations to ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist machine operators and production teams by supplying materials as needed.
• Perform daily crane and equipment inspections and report safety concerns.
• Follow all workplace safety rules and maintain a clean work area.
• Cross-train and support other functions when primary duties are not required.

Job Summary

Delta Steel is currently hiring Material Handlers with overhead crane experience to support warehouse and production operations. This position offers a night schedule (Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM) and includes an additional shift differential pay, full-time compensation, overtime opportunities, eligibility for a monthly profit incentive, and a comprehensive benefits package. This role will operate material handling equipment, including 10-20 ton remote-controlled overhead cranes, to safely move, organize, and stage steel materials within the facility. Support production operations by ensuring materials are properly positioned, processed, and available according to work orders while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Job Function

Operate remote-controlled overhead cranes (10-20 ton capacity) to move steel materials throughout the facilityLoad, unload, and transport steel beams, plate, and other materials to designated areasBuild and stage customer orders based on work orders and production requirementsOrganize and maintain material locations to ensure efficient workflowEnsure materials are accurately identified, tagged, and handled properlyAssist machine operators and production teams by supplying materials as neededUse manual hand tools (e.g., wrenches, clamps) to assist with material handling and setupUse measuring devices such as tape measures and micrometers to verify material dimensions when requiredApply basic math skills for measurements, counts, and material handling tasksPerform daily inspections of cranes and equipment; report safety or maintenance concernsFollow all workplace safety rules, regulations, and proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work areaMove materials safely to appropriate warehouse, processing, or shipping locationsAssist with inventory organization and material trackingPerform other warehouse or processing duties as assigned by supervisorCross-train and support other functions when primary duties are not required.

Required Skills

Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a 10-20 ton overhead crane preferredtraining available for entry-level candidates
High school diploma or GED
Experience in a steel service center or fabrication environment preferred
Ability to operate remote-controlled crane safely and efficiently
Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions
Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure materials
Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers
