Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Exposure to moving equipment.
• Humidity may exceed 80%.
• Personal Protective Equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unload trucks and transfer material.
• Keep safety procedures at the forefront; follow safety guidelines.
• Communicate and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• Maintain inventory by locating and recording stock locations.
• Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying and securing product.
• Assist to maintain a safe, organized warehouse per Pregis Best Practice.

Under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor and or Department Supervisor the Material Handler maintains distribution of materials between the production floor and inventory; loading and unloading; delivering production materials and supplies to production floor; staging finished product in designated inventory location; general housekeeping in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.

Classification: Full-Time-Hourly

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

Shifts: 6PM-6AM based on a 2-2-3 schedule (overtime as needed based on business needs).

Compensation & Growth: Competitive starting pay of $18–$21/hr, plus career growth opportunities with potential to earn higher wages (up to $32/hr) as you advance within Pregis.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unloading trucks and transfer material within the plant and within departments as needed.
• Keeps Safety at the forefront of team’s thinking and approach to work.
• Communicates and ensures all safety procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Skills/Qualifications: Organization, dealing with complexity, time management, process improvement, safety management, forklift operation, inventory control, lifting.
• Assists to maintain a safe, well organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled warehouse per Pregis Best Practice.
• Maintains inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling and securing product in correct location.
• Be a reliable member of the team, always identifying and professionally communicating ways to improve the work environment.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Other responsibilities as directed or required.
