Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Material Handler to move and process waste, maintain a clean floor, and follow safety procedures. The role includes paid training, uniforms, strong health benefits, tuition reimbursement, and PTO after 90 days, with a Stay-On bonus supporting growth in a mission-driven team across 35+ locations.

The shift runs from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and the team collaborates to ensure timely waste handling while identifying workflow improvements and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, overtime, and weekends.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds and push/pull loads up to 200 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate loading and unloading of carts and box waste from trailers.
• Cycle carts through tippers and cart washers and perform QC checks for damage and cleanliness.
• Operate box waste scale station and record weights for billing purposes.
• Maintain unloading and work areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Perform general plant cleanup duties, including spilled waste or materials.
• Follow established safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor and document the number of boxes processed daily.
• Work efficiently as part of a team to ensure timely waste handling.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with cross-functional initiatives and special projects as needed.
