Job summary

ICON Aircraft in Tampa, FL is hiring a Warehouse & Logistics Associate to manage inbound and outbound material, verify shipments, and support cost-saving initiatives within the supply chain. This full-time role reports to the Director of Quality & Supply Chain in Vacaville, CA and requires forklift certification, HazMat and international shipping experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years warehouse/logistics experience.
  • Experience with ERP, spreadsheets, databases.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Hazmat shipping experience.
  • International shipping experience.
  • SOS Inventory System knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unpack received shipments, verify quantity, inspect for damage, and complete paperwork.
  • Determine packaging needs for domestic and international shipments, including hazardous materials.
  • Support material control, movement, storage, replenishment, distribution, and kitting.
  • Assist with cycle counting and inventory accuracy efforts.
  • Operate business systems (ERP or other) to support duties.
  • Improve processes for materials control, movement, and usage in collaboration with Production and Supply Chain.
  • Coordinate with Materials Planning to support internal supply chain planning.

Mission of Role

Perform ICON warehouse and logistics requirements for incoming, internal and outgoing material effectively and efficiently. Support the Director of Quality & Supply Chain in cost‑saving initiatives and system improvements.

Primary Areas of Responsibilities (may include and not limited to)
  • Ensures shipments received are in good condition and accurate by unpacking incoming shipments, inspecting freight for damage, signing freight bills, verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received, checking all shipments against packing lists, and completing necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies.
  • Determines packaging needs, packs, and affixes all necessary labels and paperwork required for domestic, international, and hazardous materials.
  • Physically and systematically supports all material control, movement, storage, replenishments, distributions, and kitting to support internal and external customers.
  • Supports systems to deal with material expedites and shortages.
  • Supports requirements for cycle counting and other inventory accuracy and maintenance functions.
  • Performs all required business systems (ERP or other) to support job functions.
  • Continuously improves the processes surrounding material control, levels, accuracy, movement, and usage methodology to support manufacturing and business needs, coordinating with Production and Supply Chain.
  • Works closely with Materials Planning to support the internal supply chain plan.
  • Supports ICON Quality requirements.
  • Works closely with other departments to continuously optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of materials control at ICON.
  • Performs other duties assigned by ICON management.
  • Continually develops knowledge of Freight and Sea shipping regulations and practices.
  • Is available and willing to work overtime (and weekends) as needed.
  • Is responsible for the physical integrity of ICON property (machinery, equipment, raw material, consumables, indirect acquisitions, etc.) when receiving, storing and shipping them.
  • Has the ability to effectively multi‑task.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) – Required.
  • 2 years minimum previous warehouse and logistics experience.
  • Computer skills/experience including ERP applications, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Qualified to operate a forklift.
  • An understanding of the base principles associated with inventory management/warehouse controls.
  • An understanding of transactional reversals and conditional inventory adjustments.
  • Exposure to annual inventory and the ability to lead the activities if warranted.
  • Hazmat shipping experience.
  • International shipping experience.
  • Ability to tow a trailer or the willingness to learn.
Preferred Experience & Education
  • Practical knowledge of SOS Inventory System.
  • Experience within companies known for successful lean culture.
