Job summary

Kapco Metal Stamping in Grafton, WI is seeking a Material Handler Lead for the 2nd shift to supervise a materials-handling team on the shop floor. The role includes moving raw materials, WIP, and packaging supplies, loading coils, and ensuring accurate inventory records.

• Supply weld cells and dispose of scrap.
• Maintain inventory paperwork and complete forklift checks.
• Plan movement of parts for production and keep areas neat.
• Act as safety team member and lead, with engaged communication.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and work with a team that handles in-plant materials.
• Picks up and delivers raw materials, work in process inventory, and packaging supplies, as needed, to and from the presses and shipping areas.
• Loads coils.
• Returns correctly identified materials to proper location in inventory.
• Supply weld cells.
• Disposes of scrap.
• Performs necessary identification and inventory paperwork.
• Successfully completes forklift certification program.
• Practices safe and alert material handling at all times.
• Performs pre-shift maintenance checks of designated forklift equipment and associated record keeping.
• Must be able to plan for movement of needed parts and material for production.
• Keeps all materials and products neat and organized.
• Assists production operators with timely delivery of products and containers, as needed.
• Safety team member and leader.
• Keeps team engaged through communication and enthusiasm.
• Other duties as assigned.
