Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems, based in Reston, VA, is seeking an Entry level Material Handler at our Walker, MI site. The role focuses on receiving, moving, and shipping materials to production, and supporting inventory controls to keep production flowing efficiently.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver license, the ability to obtain a forklift license, and 2+ years of material handling experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver license and ability to obtain forklift license.
• 2+ years’ material handler experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient with basic mathematics and units of measure.
• Manufacturing experience preferred with strong detail orientation.
• Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination.
• Professional, effective communication and strong attendance.

Responsibilities

• Receive and ship materials per procedures using the inventory system.
• Load and unload freight and move materials to production areas.
• Perform counts, cycle counts, and physical inventories as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the work area.
• Support team goals and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and respond to internal/external requests.
