Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems is seeking a 2nd Shift Material Handler in Grand Rapids, MI. You will receive materials, move them to production, and package finished goods for shipment in a timely, accurate manner.

The role requires forklift experience, a valid driver license, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. You will contribute to inventory accuracy and support continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver license.
• Ability to obtain forklift license.
• 2+ years' experience as a material handler.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Keen attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination.
• Professional and effective communication skills.
• Excellent attendance history.
• Strong computer and inventory management skills (Excel, Oracle EBS).
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving and shipping functions per procedure using the inventory control system.
• Load and unload freight.
• Perform transactional functions related to inventory receipts, issues, sub inventory movement and shipments.
• Perform general area housekeeping.
• Assist team members to achieve team goals and cover areas as needed.
• Conduct continuous improvement projects as required.
• Conduct physical inventories as scheduled.
• Monitor and improve inventory accuracy, transaction timeliness, customer response, and shipping performance.
• Perform other duties to support the mission.
